M.B. Kedia Dental College & Teaching hospital is affiliated to TRIBHUWAN UNIVERSITY and recognized by Nepal Medical Council and also approved by Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal. Furthermore, Nepal Medical Council has also authorized Kedia Dental College to enroll 40 students.

Tribhuvan University, founded in 1959, is the first university and the pioneer institute of higher education in Nepal. It is named after the late King Tribhuvan. It was only after its establishment that higher education within the country was available to the common Nepali people. The infrastructure of Tribhuvan University was built at Kirtipur where its foundation stone was laid in 1958. Five kilometers to the south-west of the capital, the university is situated at Kirtipur.

OBJECTIVES OF TRIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY:

• To produce skilled manpower essential for the overall development of Nepal;
• To preserve and develop historical and cultural heritage of the nation;
• To accumulate, advance and disseminate knowledge; and
• To encourage and promote research in arts, science, technology as well as in the vocational
   fields.
 

Nepal Medical Council is the body that gives recognition to the medical education institutions of Nepal. It also accredit new doctors and provides license to practice in Nepal. Following are the main objectives of Nepal Medical Council:

• To determine the qualification of doctors and to provide registration certificate by taking licensing
   examination for new doctors.
• To give recognition to medical institutions for providing formal studies in medical sciences and
   training.
• To formulate policies related to curriculum, admission, term and examination system of teaching
   institute of medical education and to make recommendation for cancellation of registration and
   approved by renewing and evaluating such system/ procedures.
• To formulate necessary policies and to lay down the code of conduct to run the profession
   smoothly.
• Active participation in making National Health Policy.
